New Arizona Law Requires Employee Verification PDF Print E-mail

Arizona immigration law e-verify employee verification The "Legal Arizona Workers Act," which went into effect on January 1, prohibits employers from knowingly employing unauthorized aliens. It also requires Arizona employers to verify the employment eligibility of new hires via the federal "E-Verify" program.

The law requires the state Attorney General and county attorneys to investigate complaints about employers who hire unauthorized aliens. If an employer knowingly employs an unauthorized alien, an employer's business license can be permanently revoked.
